Join Claire for a posture and breath focused class suitable for all. Build strength and flexibility with careful attention...and fun! Classes are in-person at Maitri and there is an online option if you can't make it to the studio (but you will need yoga mat and equipment at home).
Who is this for?
Many people who attend this class are retired, given the time of day, but it's also for stay-at-home parents with some time after the children have gone to school, as well as freelancers, self-employed, shift workers or students who also value a mid-morning class. Not to worry if you've a dodgy knee, replacement hip or stiff back - we can work around that.
You do need to be able to come upstairs (we've no lift) and get up and down from the floor - if not then try chair yoga with Claire instead.
We practice yoga with the Iyengar method, with attention to posture and alignment, not only of limbs but of your mind and breath with the poses. We use props, such as blocks, bolsters or wall ropes, to help you feel into and understand the actions more deeply.
Use the Iyengar class passes to attend classes with me as well as with other Iyengar-trained teachers at Maitri - Maura, Louise, Annamarie and Eva.
You can choose a 10-class pass valid for 12 weeks £90, 6-classes valid for 7 weeks at £60 or a single class (valid for a week) £12. Concessionary rates available if money is a barrier to attendance. Buy online here.
Please note we cannot offer extensions on the block-booked passes. A £90 10-class pass effectively gives you three FREE classes over a 12 week period compared to drop-in rates. There are plenty of opportunities to swap classes if you have appointments, holidays or short-term illness. If you think you can't use the full pass, then buy drop-in, which is already an excellent rate!
