Are you a 200-hour trained teacher who has been left not feeling quite confident enough to teach? A teacher with more teaching experience but realising the more you know, the more you know you don't know? Or a yogi who has a burning desire for knowledge and to develop your practice?
While we don't run full teacher training at Maitri Studio, we do have a host of opportunities for existing teachers to expand their skill sets, and for dedicated yogis to take their practice to the next level.
We're happy to continue hosting several short training courses, mostly aimed at existing teachers as continuing professional development (CPD), although they are also open to long term practitioners seeking additional skills.
Yin yoga (level 1) with Grace Tempany, Dubyin Yoga has proved so popular we've confirmed one more chance for you to do this 3 day yin yoga training for existing yoga teachers (counts as Yoga Alliance CPD). Details to come.We enjoy bringing visiting teachers for a fresh perspective.
Alaric Newcombe, Senior Iyengar teacher, offers a day-long Iyengar yoga workshop for those with minimum 1 year experience on 23 November.
Aisling Guirke, Ireland's most experienced Senior Iyengar yoga teacher, visits Maitri once a month for a 3 hour Iyengar yoga workshop, normally asana-based and now and again with some pranayama focus. All teachers and long-term students from other yoga schools are welcome. A great way to learn more about alignment and prop use, and of course inversions which are an inherent part of the Iyengar style. The next are 30 October, 13 November and 4 December.
Claire Ferry (14 years teaching experience, Jnr Int 3 Iyengar teacher) welcomes teachers to her classes and now holds monthly pranayama classes and asana workshops. Teachers from different yoga styles have said how interesting they find it to attend even the beginners classes, to learn from seeing the yoga props in use to modify poses for other students or for their own practice.
Other local teachers each with over a decade of experience include Julie Preston and Orla Wallace who both offer occasional classes and workshops at Maitri Studio, offering the range of yogic practices from asana and pranayama, to chakra study and kirtan.
We hope you can find something of interest here and we look forward to welcoming you to Maitri Studio as you continue your yoga journey.
