Solidarity Rhythm Circle with Curious Community

Mike from Curious Community, who host a monthly drum circle at Maitri on the second Friday of every month, is launching a new community gathering with his friend Emily, at Maitri Studio Belfast: The Solidarity Rhythm Circle.

Friday 27th March : 7-9pm

The intention is more than a drumming circle. The intention is for it to be a space to connect, recharge and actively support the causes and communities that need us. Each Solidarity Rhythm Circle will partner with a different charity or grassroots group, with all proceeds going directly to their work.

“Starling Collective is Belfast based Charity that works with people that have come here seeking asylum or have been granted refugee status. They have a trauma informed and holistic approach, which is person focused and needs led.”

Ryan from the collective will join us to share about the work they’re doing and how funds raised will make a difference.

The rhythm circle itself will be a space for expression and connection. Through drumming and creative play, we’ll explore how rhythm can bring people together across difference. It’s a chance to show solidarity not just through donation, but through presence.

In times that can feel uncertain or fragmented, gathering in rhythm offers something simple and powerful: a reminder that we belong to one another. The plan is to gather, drum and have time for a chat at the end.

Come as you are. No experience needed. All drums and percussion provided.
