Gentle flow yoga with Valerie
 

This all levels class offers a calm and supportive space to move mindfully and help build strength safely.

We focus on:

• Slow, flowing movements to calm the nervous system
• Balance and flexibility
• Breathing practices
• Safe strength building practices using resistance bands
• Bone friendly practices informed by recent yoga for bone health training

I became interested in Bone Health Training when I read that over the age of 50 many women have low bone density and many are completely unaware of this. I completed the 15 hour training with Niamh Daly in January 2025 which concentrated on keeping classes safe for women in that age range. I have incorporated this into my classes by:

• Teaching in a protective way
• Modifying poses and introducing the option of using resistance bands to add benefit to poses
• By using cues to encourage muscular engagement
• Focus on balance in each class
• Guided relaxation at the end of class

Valerie teaches gentle flow class on Mondays 10-11.15am 

Payment is £10.00 per class on a drop-in basis
 

Yin yoga

Valerie has in the past offered Yin yoga classes and may do so again in the future. Yin poses maybe incorporated into the above class.
 

1 to 1 yoga

Valerie is also available for 1 to 1 yoga appointments.

About Valerie

Valerie has been teaching since 2013 initially completing 200 hr training with David Curtis from Dublin in 2012. Since then Valerie completed a 100 hour training ‘The Art of Stillness ‘ at Flow Studio at the beginning of 2020. 

In November 2023 Valerie completed  200 hour Art of Yin and Art of Yang with Grace Tempany ISFYT.

Her most recent training of Yoga for Bone Health was completed with Niamh Daly of Yinstinct Yoga in January 2025.
