Join Lucie for a hatha yoga class tailored for athletes and active people every Monday. Lucie also offers yin practices across the year (next session on the 14th of April).
Lucie offers two types of classes, welcoming every body types and levels of experience.
All classes follow the same pattern: breath control and awareness (pranayama), physical practice (asana) and meditation practice.
Classes are friendly and non pretentious.
Whether you are looking to stretch and recover physically or to deepen your self awareness and your practice of stillness, these classes could fit you well.
Yoga for Athletes - Mondays 6.30-7.30pm, ongoing.
"I have been teaching this class for a couple of years now and it turns out that most people coming regularly to it are cyclists, runners, climbers or altogether active people (myself included!). So by default, to adapt to their needs, this class became a weekly yoga practice for athletes.
In this class, we work on the breath, on areas of the body that might be particularly tight that week and on resilience, patience and balance - all needed if you practice a sport.
This is a practice open to all leading an active life, especially if you are feeling very stiff and feel the need to incorporate some slower movements in your week. You do not need to have practiced yoga before to join us. We are a very friendly bunch and you will feel right at home with us!"
You can drop-in for £10 or purchase a 6 week pass for £50 that saves you a class worth.
About Lucie
Lucie has been part of Maitri Studio since 2019, when Covid restrictions were still a thing...
She was first drawn to Yoga when looking for an aid to her mental and physical health and what once was an escape to a busy and hectic life turned into a life-long journey into the self.
After completing her first teacher training in India, Lucie decided to start teaching to share her new passion and help others get the benefits of the practice of Yoga. She has since completed numerous other trainings and has been teaching for the past 7 years around Belfast.
Like everything in life, Yoga practices need balance, so Lucie teaches active classes on a weekly basis at Maitri and slower, more grounded yin practices on a monthly basis (for now!). She would love to see you there :)
Lucie holds qualifications in : Hatha & Vinyasa Yoga (500h YTTC in Rishikesh, North India), Restorative Yoga, Kids Yoga (both in Belfast) and Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra (100h YTTC in Goa, South India).
She is available to teach 1:1 practices and smaller private groups as well!
