Since discovering mindfulness in 2015, I have meditated every day and am grateful for the joy and contentment it has brought me, enhancing daily life and helping me develop greater resilience in dealing with difficulties

Courses:

Mindfulness-based stress reduction course, based on the teachings of Jon Kabat-Zinn.

Dates: Tuesday 7th February - 28th March 2023
Time: 7.15pm to 9.30pm

  • A full day retreat in a beautiful countryside location
  • Exercises to gain awareness about our own stress signature and how to discover more joy in our lives
  • Guided meditation
  • A 100-page booklet of supporting information and resources
  • Telephone or email support as required during the course
  • Daily home practice (carried out by students)
  • Free access to Fiona’s Zoom meditation group on Monday evenings (7-8pm) and Thursday morning 7-7.30am)


Mindfulness for those affected by a cancer diagnosis (survivor, carer, family member, friend)

In July 2018 Fiona completed specialist teacher training in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for cancer patients run by the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice (Bangor University). This is an 8-week mindfulness training course developed specifically for people affected by cancer.

Following her own experience of cancer during the period 2005 to 2008, she wishes to share the benefits of a mindfulness practice with people who had also experienced the fear and uncertainty of a cancer diagnosis. For some this fear can persist long after the support received from attending hospital appointments has finished. Fiona found this gap in care was reduced significantly by the support she was able to give herself following her training in mindful meditation.

Fiona is glad to have the opportunity to share this course with cancer survivors or others who care or support cancer patients, to enable them to experience the benefits of a regular meditation practice.

4 Week Mindful Meditation Course

Dates: Tuesday 16th May - 6th June 2023
Time: 7.15pm to 8.15pm
Price: £45

The intention of this course is to provide the space and support for participants to develop or re start their mindful meditation home practice. The practices will be based on Jon Kabat-Zinn’s work and include the body scan, mindful movement, sitting meditation and more.

This course includes:

  • 4 x 1-hour sessions practicing mindfulness meditations including the body scan, mindful movement, seated meditation practice and more
  • Guided meditation recordings
  • A journal to complete home practice notes and insights
  • Telephone or email support as required during the course
  • Daily home practice (carried out by students)
  • Free access to Fiona’s Zoom meditation group on Monday evenings (7-8pm) and Thursday morning 7-7.30am)


Classes:

Weekly Monday mindful meditation on Zoom

Dates: Every Monday evening
Time: 7-8pm
Price: £5 or a donation if cost is a barrier to you attending

This is a friendly on-line practice group. In a typical session we meditate together for 3 separate guided practices of between 5 and 30 minutes (e.g. mindful movement, body scan, sitting meditation, awareness of breath and more). In between practices we discuss mindfully our experience of our practice. The zoom link is emailed every week so contact Fiona to be added to this email list.

Weekly Thursday morning mindful meditation on Zoom

Dates: Every Thursday morning
Time: 7-7.30am
Price: Book every half term, generally 7meet ups for £20

This is a friendly on-line practice group. In a typical session we meditate together for 1 practice of about 25 minutes (e.g. mindful movement, body scan, sitting meditation, awareness of breath and more). The zoom link is emailed at the start of every half term so contact Fiona to be added to this email list.
