We are delighted to have the Belfast Tango Society join us here at Maitri Studio for weekly classes in the connection, music and movement of Argentine Tango.

Introducing Teresa & Michael Keenan, experienced dancers and teachers of Argentine Tango for over 20 years, they are passionate about both the art and the culture of the dance.

Step into the world of Argentine tango -a dance of elegance, emotion, and deep connection. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to revisit the fundamentals with fresh perspective, this six-week course offers a supportive and inspiring space to build confidence, clarity, and musicality in both leading and following.

Your Tango journey begins with a Special Evening on Friday 7th November.
The course kicks off with a warm and relaxed “Meet & Greet” night, designed to ease you into the Tango world. 
For your enjoyment we will provide!
A complimentary glass of wine or soft drink and light nibbles.
A welcoming introduction to the rich cultural roots of Argentine Tango.
A live demonstration of the three dances: Tango, Milonga, and Vals. 
A chance to meet your fellow dancers and get a feel for the space and vibe.
This evening is all about inspiration, community, and setting the tone for a fun, expressive learning experience.

Classes are held every Friday evening 8-9.15pm

In the classes Teresa & Michael will focus on helping you move with purpose, presence, and freedom. 
You’ll explore the essential elements that form the core of tango: posture, embrace, communication through movement: and how to truly listen to the music -and your partner.  

What you will learn: 

• The foundations of leading and following with intention and clarity
• How to walk, pivot, and turn with musical expression
• The key rhythms and styles of Tango, Vals, and Milonga
• How to build trust and awareness through non-verbal communication

No partner? No problem.

You do not need a partner to register - participants will be encouraged to rotate partners throughout the course to develop adaptability and community.
