Tulca's Community Care Day

We are delighted to host Maggie McKeever and her organisation Tulca NI, a CIC (community interest company) founded in 2024 with the mission to deliver Trauma-Informed yoga and mindfulness practices to communities in Belfast that wouldn’t usually have access. 

Tulca warmly invites you to Maitri Studio for their ‘Community Care Day’ on Wednesday 24th June, 10am - 1pm. They’ll be offering sample yoga and mindfulness sessions, massage, herbal tea making workshop and lunch! This is a chance to find out more about what Tulca does, to meet the team, be in community and care for our individual and collective wellbeing. 

Whether you work within the community and voluntary sector and want to bring a group, your team or coming along solo you’d be very welcome. You could drop in for a bit or stay for the whole event. 

Maggie says: "Tulca delivers Trauma-Informed yoga and mindfulness practices in collaboration with communities in Belfast that are experiencing barriers to access wellbeing services and who are experiencing stress and trauma. We work with community partners to deliver programmes that are inclusive, accessible and culturally appropriate. We believe that wellbeing practices are a human right and that these practices within a community setting can support fostering a sense of safety, dignity and belonging."

A few notes on accessibility:

The ground floor in Maitri Studio is wheelchair accessible with an accessible toilet. There is no lift for activities on the first floor.

No yoga or movement experience is needed.

The yoga sessions will be chair / standing / mat based. Movement will be gentle and options will be given throughout the practice with participants being invited to choose what feels best for them. Wear whatever you’re comfortable in. There is no need to bring a yoga mat.
