Dani Hickey

Dani is here to inspire a more deeply connected life through sharing her passion for yoga, meditation and various body work practices, including Reiki and Thai yoga massage

For the past 7 years Dani has been studying, implementing and teaching, continuously honing her skills and depth of understanding. Dani is particularly enthusiastic about how these modalities can support and nurture women’s bodies and lives, from cycle awareness, hormone balancing, fertility, pregnancy, postnatal, menopause and the general day-to-day relationship we have with ourselves emotionally and physically.

Dani believes yoga and mindfulness have the ability to create personal transformation, deepen embodiment, instil power and spark joy.

Although grounded in the traditional teachings, Dani enjoys making yoga and meditation modern, digestible, inspiring and approachable. Dani’s signature style of teaching is influenced by Katonah Yoga® theory as well Vinyasa, Therapeutic Hatha and Restorative Yoga. She is accredited to teach women’s and pregnancy yoga by the Yoga Alliance UK.

Her approach is non-dogmatic and comes from a place of integrity and self-practice. She uses her intuitive nature and sensitivity to guide her classes with detail and compassion, encouraging her students to observe themselves with an open heart and soft eyes.

Within your body, Alchemy is at work” (The Alchemy of Womanhood)

Pregnancy yoga classes are often the most comprehensive birth preparation a woman will have. Women’s bodies are designed to give birth and the enriching practice of yoga enhances a woman’s experience of pregnancy on so many levels. As a yoga teacher I hope to support, educate and empower you on this journey of pregnancy to labour and motherhood.

I will guide you in connecting to the innate strength, power and potential of your body and mind during this time of change and transition. Our practices will include practical tools to understand the breath as well as dynamic movement and strengthening to provide nourishment to all systems of the body and address common complaints in pregnancy. It is also important to practice the art of slowing down and relaxation to soothe the nervous system that you and your baby share. We will use restorative postures and meditation to calm and connect inward.
