Come and join me for a series of 3 Yin yoga classes running monthly in April, May and June.

Classes are drop in £8.00 per class or sign up for 3 classes for £20. The classes are an introduction to Yin and are suitable for beginners.

Unlike dynamic, active yoga classes which focus on muscular tissues Yin yoga by contrast moves slowly and works more deeply into the body. It focuses on the deeper connective tissues, such as ligaments, tendons and fascia, which surround the muscles and organs, helping to strengthen and lubricate them. As joint mobility decreases with age, it is important to keep the hip, lower back and pelvic areas flexible so we can maintain mobile. By applying stress to the joints Yin yoga helps to free them up increasing the range of motion.

On a mental and emotional level yin yoga has a meditative quality helping to quieten and still an overactive mind. Holding the yin postures in stillness for a period of time and surrendering to them helps us let go of mental clutter.

Each class will finish with a deep relaxation incorporating the use of essential oils to enhance the experience.
