Trauma Informed Mindfulness Yoga

Mondays 6.15-7.15pm

Lu starts their weekly classes 6th SEPTEMBER through to 20th December (except 18/25 Oct & 1 Nov):

  • 1st taster class £8
  • Block of 10 classes £70
  • Block of 6 classes £40

Sometimes we want to take a regular yoga class, learn how to make some yoga shapes, develop strength and feel more flexible... but there are the challenges that make it feel unsafe.

The practice gives you the opportunity to positively & constructively condition your own body. Learn about your own self and understand better how your own body & mind respond to triggers, events and challenges in a space that encourages self-inquiry, compassion and acceptance.

Helps to:

  • - Stay with challenging experiences without becoming overwhelmed.
  • - Develop Interoceptive awareness - Understand, respond appropriately to your own internal body signals.
  • - Reduce reactivity - anxiety, stress and anger.
  • - Reduce the impact of exaggerated stress responses - (fight, flight or freeze)
  • - Develop skills to 'capture' and 'pause' between reactivity – Choosing to make alternative responses.
  • - Better regulate challenging thoughts and behaviours by changing the intensity of emotional experiences.
  • - Incorporate emotional regulation techniques into everyday life.
  • - Assists in relaxation, sleep and mood.
  • - Improve concentration, focus, and attention.
