Iyengar yoga - supported

This is an Iyengar yoga classes suitable for beginners, those with mobility or health issues who need some extra support, or those who just want a more chilled out mid-week class. We use ropes, blocks, bolsters, chairs and other equipment to help you find your way into the poses.

You can still expect some work for your body so you can slowly build flexibility and strength...we won't just be lying around on the floor!

You can use the 10-class pass, a drop-in (£10) or book the special offer to try it out for 6 weeks from 8th January 2020 (£48).

The classes covers yoga postures (including twists, balancing, standing, lunges, forward and back bends, inversions such as introduction to shoulderstand), breathing techniques and relaxation. There are over 200 yoga postures which help build strength and flexibility. The breathing and relaxation assist with combating stress, good sleep, lung capacity, calm mind, clear thinking and overall well being.

These classes are part of the Iyengar class series at Maitri Studio. You can read more about Iyengar yoga here. If you'd like a more active beginners' course try those with Andrew (Tuesdays) and Rachel (Wednesdays).
