Tui Na is used to treat and manipulate the body while removing toxins and stimulating blood supply. It works with the 'Qi' (energy of the body) to transform health

What is Tui Na?

Tui Na is termed as a ‘medical massage’ and is used in hospitals throughout China. It has its roots in ancient Chinese medicine, a system that has been used for thousands of years.

Tui Na is one of four main branches of Chinese medicine; the others being Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine and Qi Gong. Tui Na is translated as Tui ‘Push’ and Na ‘Grasp’.

Tui Na uses many treatment techniques and manipulations to relax and re-align the body (muscles, tissues, joints) and move blood (to remove toxins and bring new blood to the area). Many people report that specific aches and pains disappear even though the treatment may not physically touch this area. This is a normal aspect of Chinese Medicine and one of its great benefits and insights into the human body.

With the nature of Chinese Medicine, each person's condition may be different, and treatments specific to your needs are created.

Here are some common examples of what Tui Na can treat -

  • Sports injuries
  • Neck, back and shoulder pain
  • Joint pain and limited movement, arthritis
  • Circulation issues, digestive problems
  • Insomnia, stress and anxiety

Tui Na also uses the points used in acupuncture to affect the internal as well as the external aspects of the body. Tui Na can be used as an alternative to acupuncture for people who are not comfortable with the thought of needles.

About me

I am from the Lake District and moved over to Northern Ireland in 2015.

My Tui Na journey started in 1995 when I started studying Tai Ji, Qigong and Gong Fu. I became a teacher of these arts and started to use the basic Tui Na I had been taught to help others after some hard work outs. The treatments always got a good response and I found that the benefits of Tui Na could be used for many conditions. I started to study Chinese Medicine and became fascinated by how this can help with every aspect of health. I have since trained with some of the best Tui Na practitioners in the UK and Ireland.

I maintain a daily Qigong practice to look after my own health and well being, and so enable me to provide the best treatments I can for clients.

I feel privileged to be able to offer a range of Tui Na treatments. I am passionate about my work and helping people transform their health.
